If I enter details of a new task/routine, and forget to press Add button, the data is GONE.
Please please save the data and never lose it as soon as I enter it. Have an explicit cancel button for discarding changes, but have the default behaviour of remembering automatically.
This is very very important for me. I’m a forgetful person. I will forget to press Add.
I’m easily distracted. I will tap something else or switch apps before I finish. I will not finish by pressing Add.
I need the app to be reliable and remember things even when I’m forgetful and unreliable.
If you silently discard data if I don’t remember to press the final button, I can’t trust your app, because I don’t trust myself to remember there’s one more step after entering text and time.
Hi! Thank you for this feedback. You are right there is room for improvement here! We’ll have a look at what we can do.
Oops just saw this after adding to #938 … anyway what I said there:
For iOS (and with ADHD…) in particular, I’m used to apps auto-saving so will sometimes click/tap away from the window that’s in focus to look at something else which causes me to lose whatever I’d entered. I think this is worse with checklists because when you click “add” it’s visually confirming that something has been added but obviously doesn’t stick until you click Save.
This would be a good way to include a “drafts” feature. If you start putting in details for a task and then forget, it would save it as a draft. Or you could manually put a task into drafts to save for later.
Please add this feature ASAP – I cannot use a notes app that does not implicitly save what I’ve written if I so much as accidentally tap out of the keyboard. It’s been a year since this was changed to ‘In Progress”
