I attempted to search for the last date that I completed a particular recurring task, and the AI chat tool was unable to find it, even when I reduced the search terms to a single unique word.
It is disappointing to encounter an AI chat function that cannot conduct a simple text search correctly. This was my first, and I thought entirely harmless, foray into using the AI chat feature, and this result makes me deeply skeptical that I’ll be able to derive value from it in the future.
Honestly, it seems less like AI and more like a basic filter/add, filter/delete program that apologizes a lot.
I’d be ok with that if it wasn’t using a liter of clean water for a simple request. In an environmental context, I used about a gallon of clean water the other night asking it to do a simple thing. It kept saying it did it, kept not doing what I asked, and never explained why what I was asking doesn’t fit how they have the system set up.
A gallon of clean water that can’t be retrieved and that now no one has access to. Yes I feel guilty about that. No I won’t be using their AI for anything going forward.
