Ability to Schedule Subtasks independent from Parent Tasks#4481

?

1) Ability to Schedule Subtasks independent from Parent Tasks
2) Ability to see which tasks in a “to do” list have been scheduled and for when

  • that way you can manage projects in your to do lists and keep track of which assignments you’ve scheduled in the calendar and for when, and which ones remain unscheduled. I love that the todoist app lets you do this, but i much prefer the interface of your app. As a UX designer myself, it would be great if you could have this feature and would attract and maintain many more users.

Totally - Subtasks need to be schedulable independently from their parent task. Right now, scheduling a single subtask automatically schedules the entire parent project, which doesn’t make sense.

Projects are made up of multiple subtasks that are typically completed at different times. Each subtask should be able to have its own due date and calendar schedule without affecting the rest of the project.

A better approach would be to display the parent project as a tag or label on each scheduled subtask in the calendar. That way, you always know which project the subtask belongs to, while still being able to schedule each subtask independently.

For example, if I have a project with 10 subtasks, I should be able to schedule Task 1 for Monday, Task 2 for Wednesday, and Task 3 for next week—without the entire project appearing on all of those dates. The parent project provides context, while each subtask should have its own independent schedule.

This feels like a fundamental workflow issue and would make project planning much more intuitive and practical.
