Task playlists/Focus queues#4278

I

I’ve been using Tiimo for a about a week or so and there’s one feature idea that would make the app much more useful for how I plan and work through tasks.

Right now, if I want to work through several tasks in one part of the day, I either need to schedule each task with a specific start and end time, or use a general focus timer that doesn’t really guide me through the actual task list.

What I’d love is some kind of Focus Queue, Task Playlist, or To-do Hot Swap feature.

For example, if I have four tasks in my Afternoon section, I’d like to be able to start the first one in Focus Mode and then work through the rest of the Afternoon tasks as a sequence, without needing to manually assign exact times to each one.

The ideal behaviour would be something like:

I plan a set of tasks under Afternoon, Anytime, or Planned.

I select one task and tap something like “Start task”.

Focus Mode opens for that task.

When the task is done, Tiimo automatically shows the next task from the same section.

I can skip, swap, reorder, or replace the next task if my priorities change.

This would make the Focus Mode feel less like a standalone timer and more like a flexible task playlist.

The important distinction is that I don’t always need tasks to be time-specific. Often I just need a clear sequence of what to do next. Assigning exact start times can become too rigid, especially when tasks shift or take longer than expected.

A flexible task queue would give structure without forcing over-scheduling. It would be especially useful for ADHD-style planning, where I often need enough direction to keep moving, but also enough flexibility to adapt in the moment.

In simple terms: I’d like to plan tasks in the planner view, then work through them in Focus Mode as a queue, even when they don’t have exact times attached.

Hi @Incredibleolc Thank you for trying Tiimo and for this very well thought feedback! I love this idea of a task queue / “continueing the task flow”, it makes so much sense and I get that it is rigid as it is Today. Will bring this to the roadmap discussions. /Warmly Anders from Tiimo

One additional thought on this: if Tiimo ever does explore a Focus Queue / task playlist feature, it would be useful to have queue controls similar to a music app.

For example, when looking at a task, I could choose:

Do next — add this task directly after the current focus task
Add to queue — add this task to the end of the current focus queue

This would be helpful because task priorities often shift during the day. Sometimes I don’t want to fully reschedule everything; I just want to insert one task into my current flow.

Example: I’m working through an Afternoon queue -
Laundry
Grocery list
Groceries
Water plants

Then I realise I need to reply to a message or something else. I would then add an additional task/to-do, and I could either make that the next task, or add it to the end of the queue.

This would make the Focus Queue more adaptive while still keeping the structure. The key idea is being able to adjust the active task flow in the moment, without having to rebuild the whole plan or assign exact times to every task.
