Start scheduled routines manually#178

?

I’d like to be able schedule routines but still start them manually. Scheduling helps me to form a guide of my plan for the day, whereas starting them manually allows me a little extra flexibility

Hi, thank you for the feedback. So if you have a routine scheduled for 11AM you would like it only to start when you want, e.g. 11.05 AM?

I need this feature so badly, but with the addition of nagging reminders every X minutes until started! For me, I’ll often miss the reminder that an activity is coming up or has started, and then the app will be moving through the routine while I’m unaware. once I notice, I have to go back in and pause it, and then try to catch up. I haven’t yet figured out how to reset it, otherwise I’d do that. The current set up just doesn’t match my ADHD brain.

Ideally, I’d get a (customizable) set of reminders about an upcoming scheduled routine, such as one at 15 minutes (to mentally prepare), and another at 5 (to shut down whatever I’m currently doing). At my scheduled start time, I’d get another reminder telling me to manually start the routine (either from the notification itself, or just tap on the notification to enter the routine in the all to start it there). I need nagging reminders every (customizable) X number of minutes (e.g. every minute or every 5 minutes) until I start the activity. The Due app does this well, and maxes out at a total of 5 of the same nagging notifications so you don’t get blasted with an infinite number.

This manual progression with nagging notifications would then need to feed into each step of the routine. I need a reminder that the next step in a routine is coming up in 5 minutes, and another reminder at 1. Then at the start of the next step, I need nagging reminders again (like every minute) to manually complete the current step in order to start the theft one. The Routinist app does this “nagging to move to next step” notification function very well.
